Michael Burawoy, PhD, is a professor of sociology at the University of California, Berkeley. He was the immediate past President of the International Sociological Association (2010-2014).
Chen Li, PhD is an Associate Professor of Education at the Faculty of Teacher Education, Ningbo University (Ningbo, China). Chen was a visiting researcher at the Institute of Malaysian and International Studies, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia when he conducted his research on the subject of education in Malaysia and China.
Cheong Yoon Kit, graduated with a Master’s degree in Political Science at the Politics and Security Research Centre, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). His research interest is on national sovereignty, political economy, international relations and international political economy. Cheong currently serves in the Malaysia-Australia Business Council (MABC).
Eko Prayitno Joko, MA, is a lecturer at the History Programme, Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Heritage, Universiti Malaysia Sabah. His major research interest and approach include Oral History, ‘History from Below’ and ‘Pheripheral history’.
Fadilah Hj Puteh is a senior lecturer at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Shah Alam. Her research interests are in human resource development and management, strategic management, knowledge management, adult education and lifelong learning. She has published various papers in journals namely the Australian Journal of Business and Economic Studies, Advanced Science Letters, Social and Management Research Journal and Journal of Administrative Science.
Mohd Hazim Shah, PhD, was formerly a professor at the Department of Science and Technology Studies, Faculty of Science, Universiti Malaya, and currently serves as Deputy Director at the International Institute of Public Policy and Management (INPUMA) Universiti Malaya.
Muhammad Rahimi Hasan, MA, is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Malaysian and International Studies (IKMAS), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. His area of research is on feminism and gender.
Mulyadi Guli, MA, is a PhD candidate in the field of sociology of development at the Institute of Malaysian and International Studies (IKMAS), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. His area of research is on urbanisation, urban planning and community use of public parks.
Nur Alia Binti Azmi is a Master’s candidate at the Faculty of Administrative Science and Policy Studies (FSPPP) Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Shah Alam, Malaysia. Her area of research is on Medical Tourism. She graduated from UiTM, for her bachelor degree in Administrative Science. She is also interested in the area of global affairs.
Sity Daud, PhD is an Associate Professor in political economy at the Politics and Security Research Centre, Faculty of Social Science and Humanities, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
Suseela Devi Chandran, PhD is a lecturer with the Faculty of Administrative Science & Policy Studies in Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam, Malaysia. Her area of interest is regional groupings in Southeast Asia, and bilateral relations of ASEAN countries, especially Malaysia-India bilateral relations. Currently she is conducting research on medical tourism in Malaysia. She is also involved in teaching Education in Human Values (EHV) under a nongovernmental organization in Malaysia.
Rashila Ramli, PhD, is Professor of Political Science and Principal Fellow at the Institute of Malaysian and International Studies (IKMAS), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia where she is also its Director. Her areas of interest are Human Security, Gender and Politics, and Policy Development.
Ruzy Suliza Hashim, PhD, is Professor of Literature at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. She is also the Deputy Director at the Centre of Research and Instrumentation Management (CRIM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. Her areas of interest include gender and literature, and action research.
Tan Raan Hann, PhD, is a Research Fellow at the Institute of Malaysian and International Studies (IKMAS), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). She has conducted ethnographic fieldwork among the Orang Tugu community in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Tengku Adiduddin Tengku Ariston Shah is pursuing his Master degree at the Institute of Malaysian and International Studies (IKMAS), UKM. He is a Research Assistant for the project entitled “Your Language My Culture (YLMC).” His areas of interest are Education Development, Artificial Intelligence and Physics.
Zamali Midun M. Eng, was a practising consultant engineer for many years and has since retired. After obtaining his social science degree post-retirement, he registered for his PhD degree in development studies at the Institute of Malaysian and International Studies (IKMAS), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, and is expected to complete it in 2018.
